Utah Defensive Pistol League

Fees

The Utah Defensive Pistol League (UDPL) is a local Utah County organization that was originally established as an affiliate club of the International Defensive Pistol Association (IDPA). The UDPL also holds additional types of shooting events that are not specifically IDPA related, such as Handgun Steel-Shoot, 3-Gun, Rifle/Carbine and Night Shoot matches.

A shooter DOES NOT have to be a UDPL member to participate in any UDPL sponsored event.

We are also an affiliate International Confederation of Revolver Enthusiasts (ICORE) club. These matches are tailored to revolver shooters, but are open to all handgun shooters. Currently, there is no requirement to be an ICORE member in order to participate in our UDPL ICORE matches, but those who would like information on joining ICORE may do so by reviewing the requirements and benefits at http://www.icore.org.

As a Club, we have tried to structure our events in such a way that all shooters, whether or not they are an IDPA or ICORE member, can participate in our events. Please use these links to view the various UDPL match divisions:

Yearly membership fees for UDPL, IDPA and ICORE are completely separate:

Why should you join the UDPL?

  1. Lower match fees. The UDPL membership will pay for itself in as little as 6 matches per year. (See match fee schedule below.)
  2. You are able to attend the annual UDPL Club meeting, and vote on club business and for club officers.
  3. You may also volunteer to become a Club Officer.

Fee Schedule:

Note:

A shooter is not required to join the IDPA to participate in non-IDPA UDPL matches, and a shooter is not required to join the UDPL in order to participate in UDPL events. UDPL membership offers each shooter the advantages and opportunities listed above.

  1. First time IDPA shooters may shoot one IDPA match before joining the IDPA, except for a Classification Match (see item 2 below).

  2. As of January 1, 2008, IDPA membership fees are $40 per year (or $105.00 for 3 years) and IDPA membership is required to shoot the second match or a Classification Match if it is the first match for the shooter. Since IDPA now offers initial membership and membership renewals on-line, we will no longer supply application forms or take IDPA membership fees.
  3. UDPL membership is $12 per year.
