Fees

The Utah Defensive Pistol League (UDPL) is a local Utah County organization that was originally established as an affiliate club of the International Defensive Pistol Association

Along with IDPA events, we also offer additional types of shooting events such as Handgun Steel-Shoot, 3-Gun, Rifle/Carbine and Night Shoot events.

We are also an affiliate International Confederation of Revolver Enthusiasts (ICORE) club. These matches are tailored to revolver shooters, but are open to all handgun shooters. Currently, there is no requirement to be an ICORE member in order to participate in our UDPL ICORE matches, but those who would like information on joining ICORE may do so by reviewing the requirements and benefits at http://www.icore.org.

As a Club, we have tried to structure our events in such a way that most shooters, whether or not they are IDPA or ICORE members, can participate. However, except for one first IDPA "try-it-on-for-size" match, a shooter must be an IDPA member to participate in our IDPA events. Please use these links to view the various UDPL match divisions:

Yearly membership fees for UDPL, IDPA and ICORE are completely separate:

UDPL membership dues are $12.00 per year. (Note that a shooter DOES NOT have to be a UDPL member to participate in any UDPL sponsored event.)
(Currently, there is no process that allows shooters to become a member of the UDPL online. Simply register for a match by using the online registration link on the Schedule and Results page, then pay the membership fee during the match registration check in when you get to the match.)

IDPA memberships are either $40.00 per year, or $105.00 for 3 years.

ICORE memberships are initially $25.00 then $20.00 per year or $175.00 for a life membership.

A shooter DOES NOT need to join the IDPA to participate in any of the non-IDPA shooting events sponsored by UDPL. However, in order for a shooter to participate in our IDPA events or a State or Regional IDPA match, they must be a current IDPA member. To shoot in a State or Regional IDPA match, they must also have shot an IDPA Classifier. The Club will hold a Classifier Match at least once each year. (Please refer to the UDPL Schedule & Results page for dates.)

A shooter DOES NOT have to be an ICORE member to participate in any UDPL ICORE event.

Why should you join the UDPL?

Lower match fees ($13 instead of $20)
Early online match registration.
You are able to attend the annual UDPL Club meeting and vote on club business and for club officers.
You may also volunteer to become a Club Officer.

Currently, there is no process that allows shooters to become a member of the UDPL online. Simply register for a match by using the online registration link on the Schedule and Results page, then pay the membership fee during the match registration check-in when you get to the match.

A shooter is not required to join the IDPA to participate in non-IDPA UDPL matches, and a shooter is not required to join the UDPL in order to participate in UDPL events. UDPL membership offers shooters the advantages and opportunities listed above.

First time IDPA shooters may shoot one IDPA match before joining the IDPA, except for a Classification Match (see item 2 below).
As of January 1, 2008, IDPA membership fees are $40 per year (or $105.00 for 3 years) and IDPA membership is required to shoot the second match or a Classification Match if it is the first match for the shooter. Since IDPA now offers initial membership and membership renewals on-line, we encourage shooters to use that service, however, initial application forms will be available during registration at our IDPA matches, but renewals must be handled directly with IDPA.
